Nanaimo, BC – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Vancouver Island introduces a new fundraising initiative called The BIG Give Challenge.  The BIG Give Challenge encourages sponsors and individuals to team up and create their own fundraising initiative in support of BBBSCVI.  Teams can pledge to raise $1,000 or more over the course of a year.  Whether you choose to host a:

•   friendly darts tournament

•   neighbourhood garage sale

•   read-a-thon

•   dog wash

•   golf tournament

•   WII bowling

•   pool tournament or

•   workplace event such as casual day,

 The BIG Give Challenge events don’t have to involve a lot of set up time, nor do they have to be done as a one day event.  The type of event is limited only by the team’s imagination.  BBBSCVI provides the pledge sheets, workplace presentations, brochures, and success stories from our BIGs and LITTLEs mentoring matches.

 ‘There are about 800 not-for-profit organizations in the Nanaimo area, and there are only so many gala events and golf tournaments people can support or attend in any given year,’ says BBBSCVI Executive Director Denise Robinson. ‘The BIG Give Challenge offers groups the opportunity to do something fun as a team while also giving back to the community.’

 Proceeds from your BIG Give Challenge will benefit mentoring programs to our community’s children and youth.
