parents interested in our programs.
We will be hosting a series of orientation sessions for people interested in mentoring as well as parents who are interested in enrolling their children in one of our programs. Sessions will be held at our office (2030 Northfield Road in Nanaimo) and will give you a good overview of our programs, the benefits and responsibilities involved and the process to become enrolled.

A BIG "THANK YOU" TO BRECHIN LANES !!
A hearty "Thank you" to Brechin Lanes for hosting a fundraiser on our behalf last month! Brechin Lanes donated $5.00 per lane to our agency during their "Glow Bowling Time" which ran from 4-6 PM which amounted to a donation of $400! In addition to this, Brechin Lanes sold and posted personalized paper bowling pins at their location. In total the fundraiser raised over $550.00!

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Vancouver Island Fund Development & Marketing Committee is a group of volunteers who work together to contribute to providing the highest quality mentoring programs for every child that needs a mentor in Central Vancouver Island.
Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on energetic, dedicated volunteers to fulfill our mission. Be a part of a rewarding experience in making a difference in lives of the youth in our community.
Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, or Events Management experience/skills are an asset, but not required

New Group Programs in the New Year
We are happy to announce that we are offering three new Go Girls Groups in January (at Springwood Elementary in Parksville as well as Uplands and Forest Park Schools in Nanaimo). We are also planning two Game on Groups at Brechin and Georgia Avenue Schools in Nanaimo!
A BIG Welcome to Angelene Peter. Angelene is a graduated MBA student from VIU and is doing her internship with us! She is a Management Training Consultant, is visiting us from India and will be working primarily in the Big Deals Clothing Program.

We are happy to report that our Director of Service Delivery, Stephen Cochrane had an opportunity to attend the National Mentoring Symposium that was held in Banff! It was an excellent opportunity to network and learn from some excellent speakers who spoke to a very diverse group of organizations involved in mentoring children and youth.
Stephen said, "It was an excellent opportunity to learn alongside a great mix of organizations. Thank you Banff for an awesome symposium! I am filled with such positive emotion from making solid connections with people all across Canada! I will be the ripple!"
Thank you Westjet for allowing Little Brothers Kalen and Colton to be "Westjetters for a day" at the Comox Airport. This gave them the opportunity to learn all about the aviation industry, Thank you for giving them this opportunity and your continued support for mentoring!
