The Big Give is a community fundraising challenge that invites organizations or groups to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Vancouver Island.
Build a team of colleagues, family members or friends, set a goal and raise money and awareness in support of mentoring our communities kids!
Team activities can take an hour, an afternoon, a day, or longer to complete. The teams choose any fundraising activity they want and decide how and when they want to donate, participate, or volunteer.
A few examples of "Big Give" initiatives:
- Hold a car wash or dog wash
- Host a walk, run, swim, roll, or bike-athon
- Round up your till receipt to the nearest $.
- Host a sports tournament
- Bake sale
- Invite 10 friends to make a donation
- Hold a poker tournament
- Garage sale
- Ticket sale donation
- Beverage and burger night
- Place a donation jar on your desk
- Nintendo Wii tournament
Big Brothers Big Sisters staff will support the Big Give teams, make work-place presentations, and provide updates, pledge sheets, brochures and mentoring success stories.
Teams will be recognized on the Big Brothers Big Sisters website, and in our quarterly newsletter, annual report, and print materials. Volunteers are the heart of our agency. With them, we build positive lifelong relationships that strengthen and impact our community, one chilld at a time.
Your support will make a big difference and START SOMETHING BIG. Hosting a BIG GIVE event will help us serve more at risk children in Central Vancouver Island. Each $1000 tax deductable donation will support our mentoring programs.
